MANTER is a company manufacturing self-adhesive materials and producing an extensive range of papers and films specially designed for the labelling sector.
With a production capacity of over 400 million square metres and a total area of practically 40,000 square metres, MANTER is at present a world reference point for label printers and designers the world over.
NEEDS
As a result of the expansion and the building of the new factory, there arose a need to manage people and vehicles over the extensive area of the plant. The idea was to have everybody at the factory identified at all times, with the hour of the day and the point of entry, classifying the types of people as employees, temporary workers, visitors and suppliers.
OBJECTIVE
ICNITA set as the main objective unique identification for everybody for managing people and vehicle access, presence and working times, and for monitoring security surveillance rounds, visits and suppliers.
With a unique electronic code and/or identity card the users, according to their profiles and permits, could have rights to different utilities within the overall systems installed by ICNITA.
SOLUTION
The unique identification brings together various solutions that we detail below and that were adapted to MANTER:
- Interior accesses for offices, by installing electronic readers adapted to the boxes laid down by the client as regards the range of switches they belonged to.
- Electronic readers manufactured by ICNITA and of guaranteed robustness were installed for the interior areas of the factory.
- For the exterior vehicle access ways, we fitted electronic readers adapted to the pedestals with interphones for visitors or suppliers who do not at first have identifiers, where the vehicle access systems open automated doorways and barriers.
- Visits module, a very responsive system for recording visitors and suppliers who come to MANTER. The date is recorded and the identity of the person who visited, and the client can even itself plan the visits it will receive in order to make the visiting process more responsive still. Once visitors have been recorded, they are assigned an RFID card, and once the visit or the supplier’s task has come to an end the cards are recovered at pedestal-format electronic mailboxes at the factory exit, and the exits are opened. MANTER thus records such entries and exits and the reason for the visit/stay.
- For monitoring surveillance rounds, ICNITA electronic readers were placed at the strategic points so that when a watchman does his round each point can be recorded with the date and time of passing. All data are recorded on the pertinent module.
- The ISOFT access control system permits the utmost versatility in accesses and parameterisation of permits per user according to calendars and department. Timing of doors to activate them at specific times.
- The presence management system ensures that MANTER knows in real time where people are according to the access and presence readers.
- Time: powerful software to manage all the interconnection parameters of times and work shifts, so that MANTER plans its operative allocation and the program records it and calculates automatically the multishifts carried out. Entries and exits, with the reasons therefore, and deregistrations and absences are also managed efficiently by ICNITA’s SOFT module.
- Large-format presence terminals located outdoors and indoors. MANTER has various terminals with 17” touch screens for managing presence (information to the system by each user), communication (company website for visits) and internal messenger system for operatives who do not have PCs (production plant workers) to receive messages relating to production.
BENEFITS
MANTER can at all times manage people and vehicles efficiently and safely, and knows in real time who is in the factory and for what reason. In emergency, a list can be provided of the people at the factory at the time.
It has an automatic tool for managing working time.
The large-format touch terminals for recording visits make the facility imposing and yet elegant, in addition to their being the main items of equipment for presence management.
Another important benefit is user convenience, due to having a unique identification for the aforesaid systems.
